About Us

           One Hot Cookie is a family business.  It is owned and operated by the President and CEO, Sarah Lavender.  As a small girl she wandered from table to table at her grandparent's restaurant (Elsie's in Murphysboro, IL) pretending to take orders.  As an active teenager she took time to serve with her parents and 2 sisters,  veterans and volunteers at the Viet Nam Veteran's Moving Wall and to assist in the preparation of the 14,000 meals for the Guardsmen fighting the floods of '93.  As an adult she managed a restaurant in Memphis as well as planning educational programs and welcoming new students in the St. Louis area.  All of her experiences have guided Sarah's path to a food business which serves her community's needs.

One Hot Cookie is a one of a kind, unique cookie shop  located in Marion, Illinois. After brainstorming the comfort foods that people crave and researching the busy life - COOKIES, good, down-home grandma's and mom's recipe cookies were just the answer to a new business.  Our goal now is to share those great, hot, homemade cookies with all of St. Louis.  Since opening our doors in December 2004, we have provided local families and businesses with delicious, fresh, homemade cookies at affordable prices. All of our cookies are made from scratch and baked fresh daily.  We offer the old fashion favorite cookies as well as specialty cookies and cookie creation for all dessert lovers.   After 3 years in the St. Louis area we have relocated back to our 'home' territory,  located in an established coffee shop in Marion, IL, so now we have great hot cookies and gourmet coffee and tea drinks.  Our new store is still called "One Hot Cookie" and continues to serve our loyal customers in the St. Louis area and our new customers in Southern Illinois.
